The Beyond Boring Watch Company is a family owned fashion watch and jewlery company with the core ethos of creating something they are proud of.
While interacting with every member of the company during this foundational project and in all subsequent projects sense, this has been a constant: The Beyond Boring Watch Company is passionate about creating the best designs possible for their core customer base to such a degree that they can shamelessly promote the watches.
Meaning, they are fully invested, witch gives them immense pride in the products they create.
They are also scrupulous about the manufacturers they work with in order to deliver the highest quality product possible while staying competitive on price within their segment of the market.
While at the same time highlighting major areas that give The Beyond Boring Watch Company a competitive edge, this also provided its own set of challenges in terms of translating this into a visual identity.
Understanding the Context
In the world of e-comerce, engagement is everything. Before we can communicate why the brand is awesome, we have to first arrest attention.
With this in mind, we developed a Beyond Boring visual branding strategy.
While grabbing attention is usually considered “cheap,” we wanted to be sure to never be sending that message.
Our solution was to combine extremely high quality and detailed product photography with lifestyle photography that represent the same quality values that Beyond Boring has while still meeting the viewer in the contexts their used to: hanging out with friends, playing video games or just wanting to look sharp everywhere they go.
Deliverables Overview
All brand photography, which was over 200 images total from the Hero shots of the watches to team photos of the owner and his three sons.
We had them set before brand launch with all of their visual assets, which allowed them to have their website fully built and stocked with appropriate photography from day 1!
